it's alr one week+ into my xmas holidays! lets see what i have done so far..
dota! since the first day of holidays yingdan has been asking me to play dota with them.. oh wait, it's since the first day i have internet access after i came to oxford. zzz all of us have been playing dota for yearsss but why dont we get bored of it? the total number of man-hours wasted in playing dota should be more than enough to build another great wall of china.
i am lucky enough to get a break from this dota marathon, thanks to LSE malam bakti, a production of the LSE malaysian society, and my primary schoolmates who invited me along. and so i appeared in lecture hall 1, sherfield building, imperial college on a lovely tuesday morning, listening to some "properties of matter" lecture. after a free lunch (the main reason im in london so early) that came with a career talk (with freebies too lol), the rest of the aftn was spent with in garden hall with gracie, hui xian, tomoki and hanyang. and hmm for some reason i had a chance to get locked in hyde park later lol. it wasnt that hard to get out though as the fence was so short. after dinner i joined my primary schoolmates for malam bakti! had a really nice long chat with them at kfc after the performance. it was really surprising to find out all of us remember so many things that happened in primary school. did someone said i once sold tadpoles in class? oops. after another day of more lectures and tutorials at imperial, i went to joey's house for some bridge practice/discussion so that we wouldnt screw up that badly for my first bridge competition in uk next jan. had a nice dinner the next day before leaving joey's place and heading back to oxford, not forgetting to drop by southwell to redeem my free chocolates =)
and im now back in oxford, the lonely and miserable place. my attempt to study for the test after xmas was a remarkable one. i managed to read 2 pages of notes in the first 2 days! (1 page a day, where i fell asleep both days at the end of the page) the third day was better as i managed to venture a few more pages into my notes =) argh really dont feel like studying at all but i think i will fail my test if i continue this way.
hmm i shall stop complaining! well at least there is sunday that i can really look forward to =)

Ming ah ming! U're finally 19! Bet u wait until neck long alr lah =p Haha before ur neck gets long, ur hair definitely got longer than half of the girls i know! LOL. I wonder if u have received my half-as-lovely-as-u-are card! Sry ya, doubt i can get u a better one.
Since I learnt so much maths in Oxford, lets apply something i have learnt here.
Lemma 1. Derrulb's card will arrive exactly on xiaoming's bday.
Proof:
I timed it such that it will probably reach spore today, but I received the package from yd yesterday, which happened to be posted on the same day! Well since im sending something from GMT to GMT+8, and u are sending sth from GMT+8 to GMT, ur package probably saved 16 hrs compared to mine, without taking into consideration einstein's theory of relativity. So that would make my card arrive 16 hours after yours, which is abt 7am of 13th november over there! Since ur bday is 13th nov, my card will arrive on the right time! Hope u wake up early, go check ur letter box, and find a lovely card inside =)

xiaoming! I miss the days when i still called you 伟胜(or wei sheng)! that was REALLY long ago. i tink we first saw each other in the singapore maths olympiad for primary schools? doubt u rmb me though... i can still rmb u probably bcos u are way too cute! we didn't noe each other really noe each other very well last for lower sec although ur room and classroom are both next to mine. sec 3 and 4 i guess we did play quite some dota/pool tgther with yowyow at LANLAB, closed down alr though. I think that was when we started to talk more to each other? lol!
But the real miracle that happened was ard mid of J1 - "WXYZ: the search of the missing elements". Well the term WXYZ didnt exist by then, but i really had a hard time searching for bridge teammates when me(Z) and weiche(W) started of as a pair. It should have been obvious that the fantastic chess player xiaoming(X) is readily convertible to a great bridge player with just some simple chemical reaction or rather just by knocking some bridge into his head. However it still took me some time to realise that. I guess to recruit X into the team was the best decision made in my life. It started off with Z teaching X how to play, taking X to SCBA to play... Well by now X is alr an established international bridge player while Z is still a noob! Anyway getting yingdan(Y) to be X's partner was rather unbelievable too! But it ended up to be a good thing for everyone, and I really enjoyed the days spent with WXYZ =D
ming! Thank you for everything! Thanks for all the time spent together playing bridge/dota, thanks for talking to me when im bored with my worksheets in oxford, thanks for being there and working together to solve my worksheets, thanks for listening to all my grumbles and nonsense!
You have been a great friend to me=) I hope you will have a really great birthday this year, and all following years too! It's going to be 4pm here soon. So, once again, happy birthday!

I shall also apologize to those who have been checking out my blog every now and then, waiting for this lazy derrulb to update his blog. The mysterious disappearance of all previous posts can be explained by derrulb's attempt to delete his blog a couple of days ago. Only after realising that there are still people visiting this site I decided to recreate it, with the same boring template though, but all the previous posts seem to gone forever.
I really have to go get some work done now. It's oxford afterall, derrulb just cant be as lazy as he used to be =(. I promise I will update this blog really soon, so do check it out in another few more days.
